Smile Makeovers
Maintaining a youthful smile is important to everyone, more and more people have become interested in having teeth that are straight and free of stains, chips, and other defects. Advances in cosmetic dentistry have made it possible for dentists to repair damaged teeth with porcelain, producing a very natural appearance.

Preventive Care
Exams and Regular Cleanings
Regular dental visits are essential to maintaining healthy teeth and gums. For maximum benefit, a good oral hygiene at home is necessary along with an examination and cleaning at least every six months. Depending on the status of your oral health, more frequent visits may be recommended.
At your dental cleaning appointment you will find that the dentist and/or dental hygienist will also do a thorough exam that includes:
-Updating your medical and dental charts
-Taking current x-rays when needed
-Checking teeth for decay or tooth mobility
-Evaluating the gum tissue for inflammation and pockets
-Examining your mouth for signs of possible diseases or oral cancer
-Noting any irregularities in your bite, saliva, and jaw joint (TMJ).
-Educating on proper brushing and flossing habits
Radiographs or X-Rays
Routine x-rays are critical for accurate examination and diagnosis of dental problems or diseases, such as cavities or tooth infections. There are several different types of routine x-rays that help us see specific areas of your mouth. This allows us to find and maintain any dental problems early on, before they become severe.
Fluoride
Fluoride is like vitamins for your teeth, it plays a large role in preventing tooth decay. Fluoride is in the community water supply in low levels and also in toothpaste. Fluoride gel or foam treatments are often giving to children at dental cleanings. As adults, this typically is not part of a regular cleaning, although it may be recommended for some adults to get addition fluoride from other sources such as fluoride mouth rinses or a prescribed higher level toothpaste.
Sealants
Sealants are highly effective coatings placed over cavity susceptible areas of the teeth. They fill in the grooves and pits of a tooth protecting it from cavity causing bacteria.
