Our staff understands the importance of good oral health for young children. We recommend that children generally have their first dental visit around age 2 1/2. Parents who practice good oral hygiene at home will help their children adopt these good habits as well. Your child’s first few dental visits will help them become comfortable in our office. We understand the growth and development of primary teeth allowing us to treat dental concerns and use preventative treatments to maintain good oral health for your child.
Oral Health Exams
Regular dental visits are essential to maintaining healthy teeth and gums for all ages. We then do an examination; teeth are examined for signs of tooth decay, damage, or any other problems. Diagnosing dental problems early and providing treatment before they worsen is our goal. Digital dental X-Rays help us diagnose tooth decay and monitor the development of your child’s primary and adult teeth.

Preventative Care
At your child’s routine dental visit we will start by doing a professional dental cleaning, removing plaque and other buildup on your child’s teeth. Polishing your child’s teeth so that they shine and providing a fluoride treatment to prevent tooth decay.

Restorative Dentistry
Dental fillings are used to treat different dental problems like cavities and broken teeth. Teeth are usually filled with a material called composite resin, which is designed to look like natural teeth. Fillings can also be done with silver amalgam or minimally invasive treatment with silver diamine fluoride

Sealants
Dental sealants are highly effective coatings placed over cavity susceptible areas of the teeth. They fill in the grooves and pits of a tooth protecting the teeth from cavity causing bacteria.

Emergency Dental Care
It is very important to be prepared in case your child has a dental emergency. Dental emergencies do happen; whether it’s a chipped or broken tooth or trauma to the face or jaw contact us right away for treatment of a dental emergency!
